This examination uses X-rays at the lowest possible dose to limit as much as possible exposure to X-rays according to current recommendations. The risk of radiation-induced consequences is indeed greater in children in full cell growth. This makes the child more sensitive to radiation. The X-ray machines used in children are the same as in adults.
Main indications
Search for bronchopulmonary or urinary tract infections, trauma, fractures, study of congenital malformation pathologies, such as spine abnormalities, etc.
Preparation
It is helpful to prepare the child to remain immobile. Depending on the age of the child, your presence and collaboration as a parent may be necessary.
